Sony recently introduced in the Philippines the new Action Cam HDR- AS30V video camera, which is a wearable or mountable video camera similar in use to the popular Go Pro Hero cameras.
The Action Cam HDR-AS30V video camera went further by incorporating NFC (near field communication) feature, which allows this camera to wirelessly connect and share contents by simply touching with any NFC enabled devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops.
Since it is a Sony product, the Action Cam is even easier connect with Xperia phones, tablets, and Bravia TV with one touch, prompting these devices to become a remote control device for the Action Cam–or in the case of the Bravia TV–become large-screen projector for the photos and videos.
The Action Cam is equipped with an 11.9 megapixel back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor, which grabs more light for beautiful still images and Full HD footage.
There’s also a choice of recording modes: Full HD (1920×1080 60p/50p and 1920×1080 30p/25p) for fast-moving action, STD HD (1280×720 30p/25p), SD VGA (640×480 30p/25p) and two slow-motion modes for tracking a golf swing or BMX flip – HD SLOW 2x (1280×720 60p) and HD SLOW 4x (1280×720 120p). The camera too can capture images upside-down, which is useful when the Action Cam is inversely mounted.
Similar to other Sony imaging products, the Action Cam is fitted with an ultra-wide angle Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, which offers a 170-degree field of view. In addition, the SteadyShot image stabilization feature delivers stunningly smooth video, panoramic landscapes and more.
The Action Cam is also equipped with GPS for geo tagging and built-in Wi-Fi feature, which allows users to instantly share their memorable videos or photos to any smartphone or tablet through Sony’s PlayMemories MobileTM application.
This application also allows the user to remotely control the camera with any compatible device, including the new Live-View Remote (RM-LVR1).
The Live-View Remote (RM-LVR1) accessory is a wristwatch-style controller, which is waterproof and synchs wirelessly to the Action Camera for hands-free operation when it is mounted in hard-to-reach places like helmets, kayaks or surfboards.
The new Sony Action Camera HDR-AS30V is available only in black and has a retail price of Php.15, 999 (with free 8GB memory card); with the Live View remote, it is priced at P18, 999.
