Realme is a relatively new brand of smartphone keen on changing our expectations of what an entry level or mid-range smartphone should be. The global smartphone company from China recently introduced realme 3, its latest addition to its product line.
With its noteworthy hardware, build, including high-performing cameras and dependable battery life, realme 3 has features you would mostly associate with mid-range or even high-value smartphones–but the price won’t hurt your pocket.
For its price of only P6,990, the realme 3 is already powered by MediaTek Helio P60 processor; has 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage; and features a cool gradient unibody design, making it look and feel premium.
It’s got dual rear cameras, a 13MP main camera + 2MP secondary camera rear duo, plus a 13 MP front camera. The cameras also feature two firsts in its price segment–a Nightscape mode optimizes camera performance in low-lit environments, while the Chroma Boost feature uses AI technology to identify objects, optimize photos and improve the image’s overall dynamic range.
In terms of battery life, the realme 3 has all the juice you need–a 4230mAh battery with intelligent power-saving functions for much longer performance.
For display, just like many smartphones today, the realme 3 uses a dewdrop design, giving the phone a high screen ratio of 88.3 percent. It also features a borderless user interface design.
Realme Philippines Chief Operating Officer Jacky Chen shares: “We are truly happy to bring here to the Philippines our latest product, the realme 3. The realme 3 is a budget smartphone that, just like all of our products, packs higher-tier features that fit the Filipinos’ active and vibrant lifestyles. We are ready and humbled to once again give Filipinos a device that lets them #DiscoverRealValue.”
The realme 3 runs on an octa-core 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio P60 processor, which uses 12nm FinFET process technology to reduce power consumption by as much as 15 percent. It is also equipped with a multi-core and multi-threaded AI processing unit.
The large capacity battery is even improved by realme 3’s Content Adaptive Backlight Control technology, which adjusts the screen contrast to save on power up to 10%.
Realme 3 partnered with Mobile Legends to boost its image as a performance device capable of running mobile games. As the official epic smartphone sponsor of the third season of Mobile Legends Professional League, realme 3 is expected to change the expectations of a budget and midrange smartphone in terms of optimal gaming performance.
Realme 3 is equipped with the latest ColorOS 6.0 which provides better user interface through the Google Stock Android experience.
Realme 3′ 3D gradient unibody is intended for better ergonomics and implementation. The realme 3 uses gradient color matching in its two color variants: Dynamic Black and Radiant Blue.
Complementing the phone’s aesthetic are the iconic realme cases. Two variants will be available in the country: Blue Diamond and Grey which are priced at PHP 499 and PHP 399, respectively.
How good is realme 3’s cameras, you ask?
Its rear dual camera of 13MP + 2MP with an f/1.8 large aperture can produce improved photo resolution, dynamic range and color performance. The AI-scene recognition technology automatically selects an appropriate exposure scheme while the slo-mo mode supports 90fps/720p video shooting.
Realme 3’s Nightscape Mode–the only phone in its segment to have such–uses AI technology, multi-frame synthesis and anti-shake algorithms, to optimizes the cameras’ performance in extremely dark conditions. It reveals more details by adjusting highlights and dark portions of the exposure. It also effectively controls noise to enhance the overall clarity of the photo.
