To provide more value to Smart users—both prepaid and post-paid—as well as to keep their loyalty, Smart has officially opened its music store/portal www.smart.com.ph/music, which provides music downloads for as low as P15 per track.
For the music content of the store, Smart has forged a broad partnership with MCA Music, Inc., a Universal Music Group International (UMGI) company to offer what it calls a “game-changing’ online music service.
The deal between the two companies will make more than 3 million tracks in MCA Music’s global catalog exclusively available to the over 70 million subscribers of Smart and the other mobile brands under PLDT group—Talk ‘N Text and Sun Cellular.
Smart Music online store will offer music downloads for as low as P15 per track, while new releases will be sold at P20 each track—which is still the lowest compared to www.mymusicstore.com.ph which sells music tracks at P35 each.
The good thing about the Smart Music is that it allows Smart users to charge the payment directly to their postpaid bill or prepaid load.
Smart Music store can be accessed through mobile phones as well as tablets and PCs—just register your Smart number in the site. Registering can provide you with two free song downloads already.
MCA Music boasts of a music catalog that spans multiple genres across several eras. The record company carries in its labels some of the world’s most popular music superstars like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, U2, Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, and more.
MCA Music also carries the license to music’s classic collections like Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Motown Catalogs.
MCA Music roster on the local front includes Ely Buendia and his band Pupils and The Oktaves, Sitti, Nyoy Volante, Urbandub, Franco, ChicoSci and more.
