It’s the closest Windows-PC notebook to the Macbook Air in terms of appearance, thinness, lightness and all, yet it’s priced way below and offers more performance up its sleeve.
Asus’ most anticipated Ultrabook product called the Zenbook boasts of only 3mm to 17mm thickness, a metal finish from within and without (including keyboard), weight of only 1.1 kg., and battery life that lasts for two weeks on standby mode.
In addition, Asus didn’t scrimp on some features like the audio system as it equipped the Zenbook with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower and SonicMaster technology and larger and more refined speakers with amplifiers. Truly, an incredible sound could come from this skinny laptop.
The Zenbook is already fitted with second generation Intel Core i5 CPU, 4GB of DDR3 and a 128 GB solid state drive (SATA III), the latter feature allows the notebook to run faster as it helps feed the performance of the CPU with all the data you can throw at it, even at heavy loads of work and video processing.
The notebook’s display is also noteworthy to mention as it is very crisp and bright (like MacBook Air’s), featuring a display resolution of up to HD+ 1600 × 900 pixels capable of 4800 nits brightness.
It also features Asus’ Super Hybrid Engine II that features ‘Instant On’ technology. This saves your system state for up to two weeks in standby, yet it is also able to re-launch the system in just two seconds.
How powerful is this skinny laptop, you ask? Asus Philippines technical PR specialist Eason De Guzman says the Zenbook is unlike the “ULV” or ultra-low voltage laptops since its processor is capable of Turbo Boost feature that accelerates power upon demand and need.
The Asus Zenbook comes in 12-inch model and priced at P53,995. While the 13-inch model is priced at P59,995.
