The high-cost of top-of-the-line and branded smartphones plus costly data plans remain hindrance to the fast adoption of mobile Internet technology among the masses prompting Smart Communications to come out with its most affordable data plan that already include high-end smartphones from HTC, Samsung, and BlackBerry.
Set to be effective on March 14, Smart will be offering a limited-edition Data Plan 1000, which already comes with 500 SMS to all networks, 500 voice minutes to any number within Smart network, and 1 GB worth of data.
Among the high-end handsets that can be availed with the limited edition Data Plan 1000 include HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio, HTC Evo 3D, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Nexus, BlackBerry Curve 9360, BlackBerry Bold 9790, Samsung P2 (7-inch tablet), Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, Nokia N9, and more to be announced next week.
To get these handsets with the Data Plan 1000, users will have to pay amortized interest-free rates (ranging from P1,300, P900, P800 or P500–depending on the model) more on top of the P1000 data plan usage fee for a 24 months contract period.
“This is an offer whcih combines a best-value plan with the best smartphone deal,” said Gio Bacareza, head of Broadband Internet and Data Services at Smart.
“This is a key component of our goal to enable all Smart subscribers to have access to the Internet through their phones–because every Filipino should have access to the Internet.”
The offer is up to May 14. Visit Smart’s website www.smart.com.ph/DataPlan1000 or go to the nearest Smart Store.
