The new EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM zoom lens features a redesigned high precision optical system which includes one Super Ultra-low Dispersion lens element and two Ultra-low lens elements. The combination of these three UD elements reduces chromatic aberrations and color blurring and delivers sharp and high contrast images.
The mechanical component of this lens has been enhanced to deliver zoom durability and greater shake and shock resistance within the lens barrel. This zoom lens is fitted with a ring-type Ultrasonic motor that works with a high performance CPU and superior AF algorithms that guarantees fast and ultra-responsive autofocusing. It also features dust-proof, drip-proof construction for extreme shooting conditions and weighs 145 grams lighter and 1 inch shorter in length compared to its predecessor, providing an improved usability, mobility and convenience.
