PowerColor 7000 series graphics more powerful and efficient

New PowerColor HD7970 graphics

PowerColor has just released its HD 7000 series graphics cards, which include the top-of-the-line PowerColor HD7970, already a 28 nm process architecture with PCI-E Gen 3 and capable of running DirectX 11.1 applications. In addition, it features the latest AMD Eyefinity 2.0 technology, making it capable of supporting 5 displays and 3D visual performance.

PowerColor HD7970 is capable of maximizing performance by dynamically increasing the GPU engine clock to take advantage of unused TDP headroom. It performs a real-time power draw to enable higher clocks and faster gaming performance.

With such power however, the PowerColor HD7970 consumes only 24 watts and consumption can go down to 3 watts when the desktop is on idle mode.

Displays attached to it are capable of 16k x 16k maximum display group resolution—or an output up to 268 megapixels per GPU.

Gaming performance comparison

PowerColor HD7970 is also the first GPU that can simultaneously output multiple, independent audio streams.

PowerColor has been known to innovate on cooling systems and it rendered the PowerColor HD 7970 with advanced cooling design featuring wider fan with new blades and 6th generation vapor chamber and improved cooling and acoustics.

PowerColor HD7950 and PowerColor PCS+ HD7870 is another 28 nm graphics architecture designed for DirectX 11.1 gaming. It supports multi-display and Stereo 3D gaming, enhanced productivity, and fast HD video processing.

While PowerColor HD7770 is a best in class performance graphics card for the 128-bit category.

Display support for this graphics card includes DL-DVI-I, HDMI, and mini DisplayPort X2. It is also configured for AMD Eyefinity technology.

PowerColor HD 7770 features PCS+ or “professional cooling system,” which can decrease operating environment temperature effectively and enhance headroom for over clocking capabilities.

Other features include: Smart Fan Control, which is a 4-pin cooling fan which utilizes PWM control to provide the best user experience, allowing a low-noisy level performance through automatically fan speed control.

It has a large Extrusion Heat Sink Design, enabling superb head absorption from key components and easily taking away the excessive heat by cooling fan.

In addition, the Heat Pipe Direct Touch Technology efficiently carries away excessive heat, delivering 10 percent better cooling performance than traditional heat pipe solutions.
