Polaroid, a brand name that for several generations stood for instant photograph printout, has included smartphones and tablets to its roster of digital camera products to widen its market reach.
In addition to producing digital point-and-shoot digicams, Polaroid has new family of dual SIM smartphones called the PROG series, tablets called Executive series, Rainbow, Pearl, and Diamond. All of them running either on Android’s latest Jellybean iteration, Ice Cream Sandwich, or Gingerbread.
The PROG400 is a dual SIM Android smartphone that features a 4-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, while the PROGD16 features a 5-inch WVGA touchscreen and powered by a dual core processor.
The ICS run PRO4611 features 4.7 inch WVGA touchscreen and powered by a 1 GHz processor, while the Gingerbread run PRO680 features a 4 inch WVGA touchscreen and powered by a 1 GHz processor.
The Executive 9.7 tablet features a 9.7 capacitive touchscreen, runs on Android ICS, and powered by a dual core 1.6 GHz processor. The extra slim tablet comes with a keyboard accessory.
The Executive 7″ features a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen, runs on Android ICS, and powered by a dual core 1.6 GHz processor.
Similar to local brands catering to the mass market, the new Polaroid products feature affordable prices, from as low as P3000 to P9,995 (for the 9.7 inch tablet).
